DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHEVY 2500HD AND 3500HD
2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Z71
Difference between Chevy 2500HD and 3500HD
The biggest difference between the Chevy 2500HD and 3500HD starts with their two different chassis available with the 3500HD.
While both of these models come available with either the 6.6L V8 gas engine or the legendary Duramax® 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 paired with an Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission, the 3500 can outperform the 2500 in certain instances.
One of the biggest differences is that with the much wider chassis with the 3500HD with available dual rear wheels this truck is capable of towing much more weight. The dual rear wheels deliver much more power to the pavement.
While the 2500 HD is capable of towing up to 18,510 lbs. the 3500HD can tow up to 36,000 lbs. With the dual rear wheels and the gooseneck hitch this allows the 3500HD to carry an enormous amount of weight.
Also with the Chevy 3500HD the rear bed of this truck can be configured for work specifications. For example if special storage and compartments are needed for the job a Knapheide specification can be equipped to the 3500HD to make any job much easier to handle.
